There’s nothing better than a family who chooses me year after year to capture their family memories.

I met the Veltri family when their littlest boy was just a few months old. They hired me to come take newborn photos in their home. At that time I had no idea I’d be seeing them year after year and get to watch these adorable and hilarious boys grow. Over the years we’ve done family sessions and an extended family session. We had to reschedule this one a few times due to weather but we couldn’t have asked for a better night to photograph this beautiful family for what I think is the fifth time.

We met up at the Kanata Rec Centre for their summer mini session. It’s absolutely amazing what we can get done in 20 short minutes. These boys know me and aren’t afraid to be themselves which I appreciate so much. In true brother fashion they are silly and active. Being a boy mom myself I absolutely LOVE capturing brothers.

One thing I will tell you about using the same photographer year after year, if you have shy kids especially. Often times it will take children time to warm up to the photographer and before you know it the session is almost over before that happens. When clients come back year after year their children remember me which makes them more relaxed from the beginning. I have little clients who are so comfortable with me that they literally chat my ear off the entire time with a whole year worth of info they need to tell me since the last time we talked.

There’s nothing better for me than that! Think about that when choosing your family photographer, choose someone whose style you love but who you can see forming a relationship with your children and who they feel comfortable with. It makes your session go that much better.

Here are just a few of my favourites from this summer sunset session with this amazing family that has become so special to me.
